Beach House Design 1

Experience. Space. Function.

The client  requested a larger kitchen that provided space for entertaining family as well as created a more functional space.

Clear sight lines were important, so the client could watch her child while in the kitchen space. We used skylights to help create a brighter and natural lighting environment at all times of the day. The skylights facing east will draw the morning / mid morning sun into the space while the from windows will allow for the afternoon sun to splash through later in the day.

Increased counter space and open kitchen concept creates the opportunity for more storage and improved function through out the kitchen work space.

  • Open Kitchen Layout

A wide open work space that is great for both serving and prepping.

  • Clear Sight Lines

Great for both entertaining and watching children. Improved visibility helps to bring this kitchen together.

  • Amazing Views

The beach environment offers amazing views that add to the living experience of the home. The large windows capture these views and feed the overall experience.

  • Night and Day Experience

Living at the beach is a 24 hours experience. At night the user is drawn inward to focus on the internal living experience to enjoy times with friends, family and guests. During the day the focus is outward on the active landscape surrounding the home.

Sketchup Model Design (Coming Soon)

Captains Room. Kitchen Views.

This work-from-home client demanded everything they needed to make their home base work for them. The split level floor plan already accommodated a multi level experience. The floor plan was refined and improved to accommodate the home owners needs and wants.

AutoCAD. Sketchup Model. Lumion Render (Coming Soon)

Design > Model > Render

The full design plan came together by first measuring the existing floor plan and understanding the complete layout. From hand sketch to AutoCAD drawing a final drawing was created.

Next, I consulted with the client to understand what she needed from her home and to get a better understanding of her vision. At this time a revised floor plan was created and submitted for review to the client. After some tweaks and improvements were made a final design drawing was completed.

Next, a 3D model was created using Sketchup to help envision the 3D Space and create visual renderings of the final design. Lumion was used to create photorealistic renderings and to get an idea of the final materials needed for the design.
